Steps to Take After Admission Lists Have Been Released
- Accept Your Admission.
The first thing you need to do after you must have seen your name on the admission list is to log in to the JAMB portal and accept the admission that has been offered to you.
Your acceptance of the admission is a confirmation to the school that you are indeed comfortable and ready to study at the institution.
Note that accepting the admission also informs JAMB that you no longer require admission from any other institutions.
Accepting admission shows the certainty of your interest in studying the course you have been offered and the institution that offered it.

- Printing Your Admission Letter.
Your admission letter serves as a testament that you are indeed recognised by the school and that the school is interested in allowing you to study.
The admission letter is a vital document that must be present before proper registration is commenced at the school you have been offered admission to.
The admission letter is also one of the major requirements for the National Youth Service which is a mandatory service for Nigerian graduates. To do this,
- Visit the Jamb e-facility portal.
- Log in your details to access your portal.
- Click on the “print admission letter” tab.
- Visit the school website.
You need to know at this point that the school you applied to must also acknowledge your acceptance to study with them.
Visit the school website to confirm your admission and get the necessary information about the next steps.

- School Registration
After gaining admission proceed to the school that has offered you admission to commence registration (this is usually done online by most institutions).
Fill all the required information and upload all the necessary results and documents which usually comprised of your passport photographs, your O’level results, subject combination for Jamb examination, JAMB result slip etc.
At this stage ensure you know all the requirements of the school, the correct number of documents copies should be provided.
- Payment of Fees.
Now that you have confirmed your admission status and have proceeded to the school registration, you have to make the necessary payments required by the school.
Payments requirements vary from schools, some schools demand for payment of acceptance fee which is basically to show that indeed you have accepted and are ready to resume your academic pursuit at the Institution.
The amount to be paid equally varies, schools have the discretion of setting the prices depending on what their policy stipulates.
However, there are schools who do not demand for acceptance fee, you need to know for certain if the institution offering you admission demands for this or not so as not to fall into the hands of scammers.
Aside the acceptance fee, some institutions demand that you pay the session fee before you can proceed with any other thing.
If this is the case with the school you’ve applied, ensure you make the payment as and when due in order not to forfeit your admission. Lack of school charges payment can lead to automatic forfeiture of the admission granted to you.
- Stay Informed
Finally you need to be abreast with the information about the school. Make sure you’re visiting the school site frequently so as not to miss any vital information that may be detrimental to your admission.
You also need to start thinking about your accommodation and upkeep which you will be needing as you start you academic pursuit.
