About FEDPOLEL

The Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji in Ondo State was established in July 2014, alongside three other federal polytechnics as part of a national initiative to expand technical education.

On March 12, 2015, the pioneer principal officers were appointed, laying the foundation for the Polytechnic’s operations.

The Ondo State Government provided a section of Gboluji Grammar School as the initial site, and the Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo Local Government offered a temporary administrative office complex.

The Polytechnic officially opened its doors on May 4, 2015, in a ceremony led by the Honourable Minister of Education. A day later, the first Governing Council, chaired by Ambassador Abubakar Cika, was inaugurated.

However, the Council was dissolved in July 2015, and a management committee took over the institution’s administration.

To further support the Polytechnic’s development, Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State handed over a modern primary school to serve as an extension of the Polytechnic’s facilities.

In September 2015, the Polytechnic secured a Certificate of Occupancy for its property.

By January 2016, detailed surveys were conducted, and a master plan was developed to guide future expansion. Within a year, the management had acquired flats to serve as offices, secured the Mega School as part of its facilities, and obtained land for its permanent site, demonstrating a strong commitment to its growth and sustainability.
