About Fed Poly Offa
The Federal Polytechnic, Offa, was established in 1992, following an announcement by Military President Ibrahim Babangida during his 1991 state visit. The declaration was made at the palace of the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mustapha Olawoore Olanipekun Ariwajoye II.
The formation of the Polytechnic was driven by a Local Task Force led by Alhaji Tiamiyu Olatinwo, supported by six other Offa indigenes, with Chief Ayotunde Raji serving as the Secretary.
The institution’s first Rector, Engr. (Mrs.) Taiwo Adeife Osemeikhian, took office from 1992 to 2000. A Federal Task Force, supervised by the Federal Ministry of Education, directed major policies and served as the institution’s Governing Council during this period.
Dr. Razaq Bello succeeded Osemeikhian as Rector from 2000 to 2006, followed by Dr. Mufutau Olatinwo, who assumed the role in 2006 as Acting Rector before becoming the third substantive Rector in 2008.
The Polytechnic experienced the formation of its first official Governing Council in 2000, with additional councils inaugurated in 2005 and 2009.
The fourth and current council, chaired by Chief Okey Ezenwa, was inaugurated in April 2013, marking a period of continued development for the institution.
