1. Cut-off Mark

Generally JAMB sets cut off marks which is a threshold that one should at least reach to be deemed worthy of being admitted. Previously the generally cut-off Mark for JAMB was set at 180 marks.

This meant that candidates were expected to get 180 cumulatively from the 4 subjects they registered with JAMB. Currently, the Board has reviewed the cut-off mark and has set it at 140 for universities and 100 for Polytechnics and colleges.

However, schools also have their cut off marks which vary based on the choice of course.

For example, in most federal universities, the cut off marks for courses like law, nursing, engineering, medicine and pharmacy is set at 250. This is because these courses are in high demand, and schools are selective.
